Pdudfield The Win 7 Hanvon driver 3.2.2 for Artmaster III graphics tablet downloaded and installed according to the installation wizard but it does not work with my Artmaster III. The tablet is shown in the Devices and Printers but doesn't function in Photoshop I'm using Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and the earlier driver download direct from Hanvons website doesn't work either.
It doesn't complete the installation because it doesn't recognise that the tablet connection is plugged in. Hanvon customer support doesn't answer my emails either after two or three days.
All in all very poor customer support from them so far. Please enable JavaScript to view the comments powered by Disqus.
I just bought a pad - the last wacom I had was like 20 years ago on my Mac Performa - a little 4x5 Wacom. Worked well back then, but it was expensive even back then. The pad I've been using for about 5-7 years is an Aiptek Hyperpen8000 USB. It has held up pretty good, sturdy - not top of the line performance (slow, software not as good as the first version). Anyway I still use it when I go to work or travel for short periods of time.
My new pad is a Monoprice pad. It cost me 40 bucks for the 10 inch version; there is also a 12 inch version for 84 bucks. If your in the position to pay a thousand dollars or more, than trying an 40 - 84 pad should'nt be a problem, right? Anyways - the Monoprice pads have been getting excellent reviews despite the percieved notion that getting gouged means you buying a superior product. Product support isn't all that - but then I didn't pay the extra hundreds to thousands of dollars that companies like Wacom are sliding in the price of admission anyway - so if it breaks I can easily buy a new one, which would cost me less than getting a Wacom repaired / replaced when it goes out of warantee. All that aside, the Monoprice is extremely cheaply priced, but is a great performer - here's an excerpt from an easy to find review about the specs: 'The tablets come in four sizes - 4x3, 5.5x4, 8x6, and 10x6. The tablet features a number of programmable macro keys around the sides of the tablet, 1023 pressure sensitivity levels, 2540 LPI resolution, and 100 RPS report rate for speed.
You also get an extra pen, batteries for both pens, and replacement nibs for the pens.' It works very well - I would recommend it to any starving student drooling over and about to waste gobs of money on a Wacom tablet of similar specifications.
Tell your parents you purchased a Wacom instead and keep the difference. I'm a Wacom supporter BUT I went to Shenzhen and found this Hanvon Artmaster 3 tablet. Here's what differences I spotted some great others bad. Havon has a pen eraser on the end, sadly the eraser sometimes goes crazy on it's own so expect no awesome neat erasing. Havon's pen is ultra light (as heavy as a small pencil) this might be a pro or a con to ppl. Wacom on the other hand has slightly heavier pens (feels like an ink pen, though not as heavy as a fountain pen). Havon's tablet layout is really horrible.
No labels, active surface is only marked out with some triangles and the buttons are really narrow. Not so great. Havon is better then Wacom Intuos4 in that the accuracy of a Hanvon is o.1mm whereas Wacom Intuos4 is 0.1inch. Also Wacom's max report rate is 197pps whereas Havon is 220pps. But not many ppl care about this as both are so fast, humans like us can't follow.
Hanvon's pen sellection and nibs are really limited, but Wacom supplies Wacom Grip Pen (and a mouse) with 5 replacment standard nibs, one flex nib, one stroke nib and 3 hard felt nibs. But Hanvon might supply more nibs in future who noes? Wacom is more supported (rlly more supported everywhere) and most ppl shun Hanvon Artmaster because their basically Wacom-piraters!!! It's rlly true too. China is great at pirating, I should noe too.
Now for one of the biggest deciding factors. The money factor. Well Wacom is hugely expensive and some consider it a rip-off. But I consider the price as correct for all the features it gives. Hanvon IS cheaper BUT it's only about $300 or so dollars cheaper.
I'm talking Hong Kong currency (in Hong Kong's cheapest places eg. Wanchai and Mongkok) against RMB in Shenzhen's cheapest tech markets (eg.
HuaQiangBei, FuMin). Fifa 14 ps2 torrent iso ps2. I DO NOT OWN EITHER OF THESE TABLETS. Because I'm indesicive and saving up. I'm currently for the Wacom Intuos4.
