I know I could have bought the NI Audio 2 to do that, however, I have been thinking about getting into production as well and and the purchase of Komplete 6 was the first step in that direction. Leds on top changes color to let you know when you're to hot, Pro quality sound, all connections are balanced, if you buy it, you won't be sorry. Got reminded once more why I should'nt even look at other DAW's than my absolute favorite REAPER since I (like an idiot) decided to check the included Cow bajs (cowpoo in Swenglish:). 30 Days to register? So why would this J-ware ask me for a Lic#? It immediately went the same place Blow Tools and SampliNude is, in the trash, especially since Reaper is the most powerful and stable Daw in the known Universe. Pure sound and has the perfect amount of inputs, headphone, MIDI interface etc.even has a button to switch monitoring to mono which is immensely helpful for mixing and testing how your music will sound on club systems/iPhones and so on.
