It's formatted on my computer. Right now, I'm trying to back up my PS4 storage so I can upgrade my HDD from 500GB to 3TB(with a Nyko Power Bank). The problem is, I've been told that I only need 1GB of free space to back everything up(games, saved files, etc.) yet when I was trying to do that a couple of minutes ago, it says that my USB storage device does not have enough free space to back up my applications(which has taken up 320.8GB of my memory). Am I doing something wrong?

Click to expand.Turns out that I need a 2.5 USB hard drive that contains more than 500GB for me to keep everything like any data/memory normally would in any electronic device after watching youtube video on how to properly upgrade the PS4 hard drive. I thought that free 1GB space was like partially for cloud to store all the stuffs you had or something.

I guess someone lied to me about this and had me waste my time and money. Luckily, it's only been one day since I had the data bank and 3.5 hard drive so I can still return them to Best Buy for full refund and exchange for another hard drive where I can prop it open aftet transfering everything to it through USB cord. But hey, don't blame me because I tried not to risk screwing up my PS4 console getting the wrong hard drive brands or model and then tried to ask someone who has some knowledge on this kind of stuff. It's funny how it's only the Playstation 4 that has this issue of making the hard drive upgrade a little cryptic and complicated, when with the Xbox One and even the Wii U, you can just get an external hard drive and simply plug it in through to the USB port without any required downloaded updates from their webpage and it's all set. Click to expand.I just recently watched a youtube video where you can just simply buy the backup 2.5 USB external hard drive to not only back up all if your memory but also to prop open the case with a flathead screwdriver and carefully take the usb port apart so you can use it as an internal hard drive.

Then again, the guy in the video only used a 2TB external hard drive so Idk if a 3TB 2.5 external hard drive would work with the PS4 since I can't seem to find any videos where you can do it with a 3TB.
