____ Thank you for trying this special MicroXP edition of Windows XP. Windows XP SP3 Final 2009 is operating system Windows XP with final SP3, works much faster usual XP, basically it is intended for weak personal computers or for gamers. With a WINDOWS folder that is only 199Mb and a CD size of just 99.9Mb, this has to be one of the smallest Windows XP installations out there. Whats more - you can use 99% of the programs you always use and up to now there is not one single report of any game not working in MicroXP. This installation takes only 5 Minutes 30 seconds. This install includes default XP drivers for Ethernet/Sound/SCSI/RAID It has all languages kept, except Chinese/Japanese/Korean. It has all keyboard layout choices kept.

It also has Service Pack 3 final slipstreamed into it. LAN Networking is now possible - Use 'Map Network Drive' and just put the computer name of the computer you want to network with. Digital Cameras and Scanners can also now be used.

Microsoft Windows XP Professional ISO image with service pack 3 is the latest edition of Windows XP series. Get Windows XP SP3 ISO Full Version Free Download through our direct link available for the users of the Softlay.net. This is a good solution but with a drawback. A virtual machine hosting standard Windows usually takes a few gigabytes minimum and boots considerably slow. I googled a bit and found MicroXP. This is a very stripped-down version of XP SP3. The distribution ISO takes around ~100 MB, and when installed ~250.

The ISO file size is the same as in the previous release - 99.9Mb _____________________________________________________________________ [Statistics] Installation time, in VMware, from ISO file, from end of formatting. 5 Mins 30 Secs RAM Usage On First Installation. 39 Mb Handles... 2229 Threads... 157 Processes.. 15 Entire Install Size.. 205Mb Documents and settings folder size.

MiniXP The MiniXP project is based on Dietmar Stoelting's. See for the project homepage. Please refer also to the XPSP1 with full commandline thread (see link above).

This project is a WinBuilder wrapper for one of the XP project's discussed in the XPSP1 with full commandline thread. It can be used to create a small Windows XP based installation that can be booted from a physical hard disk or a hard disk image file - RAM disks and file backed disks are supported.

A Windows XP CD, I386 folder share or an existing Windows XP install can all be used as source for the project. The website and project download include documentation and instructions for using the project. At the moment I recommend testing in a Virtual Machine only - QEMU is included in the project.

This is a minimal XP install - the core files are approximately 23 MB. If all included project scripts are enabled, the build size is approximately 40 MB. This includes - • a43 file manager • BBLean shell • WinVBlock • FAT/CDFS and NTFS support • Diskpart • Format • Regedit • Task Manager • Notepad • Calc All this in a 4.28 MB download! This is a beta release. Please test and feedback - the more feedback the better. Regards, Misty. Minixp Image made with the latest Project is booting OK from grub4dos menu on HDD and can also be loaded from USB into RAMDISK.

Thanks for the continuing support and suggestions. I have managed to launch the help files included in the download via the default web browser and will include it in the next build - this simply involves running the following command, which can be executed using a button - ShellExecute,Open,'%BaseDir% Projects docs index.html' I was beginning to worry that your previous suggestions about including ImDisk were bordering on harassment - hope you noticed the inclusion of the option to install it in the new build. @wimb minixp Image made with the latest Project is booting OK from grub4dos menu on HDD and can also be loaded from USB into RAMDISK. For booting as FILEDISK on USB some more files and registry tweaks are needed as used in XPCMD Image files You need extra USB driver files as given in file copy_xpcmd.txt of IMG_XPCMD XPCMD_SRC.
